Letter From the Director
Greetings and welcome to the Department of Facilities Management web page. We are currently making modifications to the contents of our site to better serve you. For those of you not familiar with Facilities Management, we are the physical plant operations department within the Office of the President here at Mississippi Valley State University. We provide maintenance and support services for approximately 1.4 million square feet of building space comprised of 92 buildings and 487 acres, landscape and grounds here on the main campus.
As a unit, Facilities Management is comprised of a dedicated group of people that reflect the demographic make-up of our campus community and our region. Our team efforts contribute greatly to the quality of life for students, faculty, staff, and the broader spectrum of MVSU patrons. Our team of skilled service staff, supervisors and managers take personal pride in delivering services to MVSU; we aspire to demonstrate a standard level care in all that we do. As team players, we work closely with other University departments to insure clean, safe, sustainable places to live learn and work. As a team, we pride ourselves in our ability to support the facility and operational needs of the campus community; we are committed stewards of our precious resources.
As with most organizations, here at MVSU we are constantly seeking methods to enhance our delivery of service and it is our expectation to be held accountable to deliver services that are vital in the embodiment of the University’s motto “Live for Service”. You will see examples of this throughout our website as each department has its own unique mission, vision and set of guiding principles. We invite you to visit our site and encourage you to look forward to more exciting updates of our progress as build a better MVSU.
