Our purpose is to maintain effective communication between the staff and university administration regarding policies, procedures, and programs. The council serves as a forum for staff to explain concerns and determine appropriate action to address the item.

Meet Staff Council President Kinds.
Larry Kinds Sr. is a native of Greenwood, he is a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in education and his master’s degree in business administration. He earned his Specialist in Educational Leadership Program from The University of Mississippi.
Kinds currently serves as the Director of Developmental Studies and Academic Support at Mississippi Valley State University. Kinds is responsible for developing new curricula with the help of teachers, students, and other staff. Networking and building professional relationships with members of the institution and the community. Monitoring the progress of new and existing teaching methods. Closely evaluating results at the end of each quarter and writing up progress reports. Supervising all faculty recruitment and vetting prospective teachers. Identifying areas for improvement and scheduling workshops for new and existing staff.
I, Larry D. Kinds Sr., am honored to serve as the President of the Mississippi Valley State University Staff Council. I am committed to representing the interests and concerns of our dedicated staff members and working towards a positive and inclusive campus environment.
As President, I will strive to promote communication, collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of all staff members at Mississippi Valley State University. Together, we will work towards achieving our shared goals and objectives in support of our university community.
I look forward to serving in this role and making a meaningful contribution to the continued success and growth of Mississippi Valley State University
