The University Police Department was established to provide service to the campus of Mississippi Valley State University. The Department mission statement describe both the fundamental reason for existing and the most general kinds of activities in which the department will engage.
The mission of the University Police is to protect and secure all students, faculty, staff and guests on the Mississippi Valley State University Campus. To provide and share data which ensures quality law enforcement and security response to campus incidents. To comply with the Jeanne Clery Act and provide protective programs and training to all of Mississippi Valley State University's faculty, staff, and students, maintaining the highest standards in promoting security and law enforcement for all of our students, staff, and faculty.
The University Police Department follows fundamental principle and delivers its services in a way that perserves and advances democratic values. The Police Department also protect the right of all members of the University as guaranteed by the United States Constitution.
The Department is committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all its operations. Professionalism, in a sense, means adherence to impeccable integrity and careful protection of the rights of those authorized to enforce the law.
