The Goals of the Department of Natural Sciences and Environmental Health are:
- Develop students who are well-prepared for their careers and life endeavors in a modern society.
- Provide opportunities for all university students to become proficient in the concepts and principles of natural sciences, environmental health and Bioinformatics.
- Offer baccalaureate and master’s degree curricula in natural sciences, environmental public health, and bioinformatics.
- Prepare students for advanced study in biomedical sciences.
- Prepare students for admission to schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, medical technology, physical therapy, and other allied health professions.
- Train students for careers in biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, ecology, environmental quality control, and conservation of natural resources.
- Prepare and train students for employment in both the public and private sectors, including positions in public health, occupational safety, environmental monitoring, regulation, protection, government research labs, and industries such as drug manufacturing and chemical companies.
