Criminal Justice Internship (CJ 493) is a tour in any criminal agency for not less than two months in the summer (30 hours per week) or three months in the Springs or Fall (20 hours per week) for a total of 240 hours. It is to be undertaken in the junior or senior year. With the approval of the Department Chair, two criminal justice courses may substitute for the internship, if placement is not possible, or the student is an in-service officer who already possesses the required job experience and, therefore, should take two criminal justice courses (of 3 credit hours each) in lieu of the internship. The internship experience attracts 6 credit hours.
