PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION
All students (including transfers) entering Mississippi Valley State University for the first time and enrolling for academic credit must submit proof of immunization for measles and rubella as an admissions requirement to be admitted to the university. This documentation may be uploaded to the student's admissions portal or sent to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment at admsn@mvsu.edu. Please ensure the document is uploaded in PDF format, with visible immunization records and dates.

TUBERCULOSIS (for international students only)
All international students must have proof of test screening for tuberculosis by chest x-ray and interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA) performed in the United States before classes start.Proof of immunization may be documented in the following manner:
- Documentation should indicate the month and year of the first immunization which was received after the first birthday;
- Documentation of positive measles and rubella serology with date of test and results;
- Physician-documented history of having measles with date of disease. The history of rubella is not accepted.
Two doses of measles vaccine are required. International students must have a chest x-ray to screen for tuberculosis.
Temporary exceptions for one semester are:
- Pregnant women;
- Women suspecting pregnancy
- Women who anticipate pregnancy within three months.
Permanent exceptions are:
- Medical disease that will cause a permanent contraindication to immunization;
- Persons born before 1957
