Uplifting the Next Generation of Women in STEM

According to research by the American Association of University Women (AAUW), women comprise only 34 percent of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The gender gaps are exceptionally high in some of the fastest-growing and highest-paid jobs of the future, like computer science and engineering.

Mississippi Valley State University will host the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Black History Convocation at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, in the Walter Roberts Auditorium in the H.G. Carpenter Building.
The 2024 theme for Black History Month is “African Americans and the Arts,” which seeks to raise awareness of the influence that African Americans have had in visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary and other forms of cultural expression.

ITTA BENA, Miss. — The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has reaffirmed the accreditation for Mississippi Valley State University for the next decade. MVSU's reaffirmation came without recommendations for improvement from the commission.
On Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10 a.m., Mississippi Valley State University will host its Fall 2023 Commencement in the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex.
This year, the graduates will receive words of motivation from Dr. Roy C. Hudson who will serve as the keynote speaker for the celebration.
