Phi Alpha Honor Society This is the national social work honor society. Students achieving academic excellence are inducted into this society. It fosters high standards in professional education and provides an opportunity for high achieving MVSU Social Work students in establishing connections with students from other schools of Social Work. http://www.phialpha.org/
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
Alpha Delta Chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society is seeking qualified members. A student is eligible for active membership when he/she has:
- Declared Social Work as an undergraduate major
- Achieved Sophomore status
- Completed 9 semester hours in major courses
- Achieved an all college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
- Achieved a 3.25 average in major courses
