ITTA BENA, Miss. – Mississippi Valley State University will officially launch its 75th anniversary celebration during Green & White Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025. The event marks 75 years of academic excellence, leadership, and economic impact in the Mississippi Delta and beyond.
The celebration will kick off with a press conference at the Mississippi State Capitol, where university leaders will unveil the official 75th-anniversary logo, symbolizing MVSU’s rich history, resilience, and vision for the future.
“This is more than just a celebration—it’s a time to recognize the positive impact of MVSU as an economic catalyst and community pillar,” MVSU President Dr. Jerryl Briggs said. “We honor our past, embrace the present, and boldly shape the future of our students, the university, the region, and the state. We invite students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Delta community to join us as we recognize our rich history and chart the course for the next 75 years.”
Green & White Day at the Capitol is the first of many events planned throughout 2025 to commemorate MVSU’s storied past while looking ahead to a promising future. The 75th-anniversary celebration will continue with Founders Week activities, extraordinary alumni and community engagement events, and a renewed focus on MVSU’s role as a key economic driver for the Delta region.
