George tells MVSU Grads, “Live Your Story”

Mississippi Valley State University held its 71st Commencement Ceremony Saturday morning in the R.W. Harrison Complex, and 230 undergraduate and 45 graduate students crossed the stage to receive their degrees.

MVSU alum Dr. Trina N. George, State Director-Rural Development with the Mississippi United States Department of Agriculture, was the keynote speaker and told graduates to "live their story."

Mississippi Valley State University scholars Uchechi Nworah and Aaradhana Saxena won the state-wide 2023 StudyMississippi International Student of the Year award in the Undergraduate and Graduate categories, respectively.

This award recognizes the exceptional personal contributions of international students to student life and community outreach in Mississippi.

MVSU Scholars Shine Bright at Computer Science & Engineering Symposium

Mississippi Valley State University scholar's stars shined the brightest among other STEM students nationwide during the 2023 Association of Computer and Information Science/Engineering Departments at Minority Institutions (ADMI) symposium.

The event was held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and was themed "Computing for Social Good." The symposium highlighted undergraduate and graduate research interested in computing innovations.

Victoria Mallard is a brilliant and determined young woman proving how Mississippi Valley State University can be the launch pad for a great future.

The Houston, Texas native graduated from MVSU in 2022 and currently attends graduate school at Notre Dame, pursuing a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a discipline in Construction Management.

MVSU Highlights Women's Role in Higher Education for Women's History Month

In March, across the country, women are recognized and honored for their numerous contributions to society during what is known as Women's History Month.

Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) recognizes these significant contributions women have made and are making in higher education. MVSU stands firm on creating a space for everyone, including women, to learn, lead, and teach.

MVSU to Host 25th Constance G. Bland WIST Conference

Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) will host its 25th celebration of the Constance G. Bland Women In Science and Technology (WIST) Conference on Friday, March 24, 2023.

The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Science and Technology Center in the Mary Crump Auditorium and conclude with a luncheon in the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex. The theme for this year's conference is "Women in Science and Technology: Plug Into STEM."
