Mississippi Valley State University Social Work Program's mission is to prepare graduates to practice with individuals in need and populations at risk in rural environments and beyond. This is done by:

Goals of the Bachelor of Social Work Program

• Educating students for entry and advanced levels of social work practice for generalist and specialized practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities,
• Providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills for working with diverse populations, including oppressed minority and rural populations, and 
• Instilling in students a professional social work identity and the values and ethics of the profession.
